What's In a Scent: Sierra Ridge

Over the past few months, we've been giving you the story behind our all-natural shave scents. For our previous entries, follow the link to learn more about Arenella Coast and Lost Provence. Today, we go behind the scenes with our final scent, Sierra Ridge.

If you haven't been following along, the last few months have been full and exciting here at Supply HQ. We completing our successful Single Edge 2.0 Kickstarter campaign and were able to take a much needed vacation to recharge before jumping back into this crazy startup world. We're officially back in the states, and more importantly - back to bringing the Single Edge 2.0 to life, as well as developing a few other new products coming your way in the upcoming months.

As we have started to collect data from our recent Kickstarter campaign and looked back at our past sales, our Sierra Ridge products have surprisingly been the most popular scent selected by customers. To wrap up our series on all of our all-natural shave scents, it's time we go behind the scenes and take you to the destination that inspired this woodsy and adventurous scent.

Buckle your seatbelts... we're headed to Yosemite National Park.

 Half Dome

Yosemite National Park is one of the most iconic and biologically diverse places in the United States, as well as a highly revered national park among adventurers. It also happens to be one of our favorite places we've ever visited. Patrick was first introduced to it's beauty in college when he and his best friend planned a road trip to California in order to hike Half Dome's summit by sunrise. You can say the resulting footage from that trip left a lasting impression.

A few years later, we were able to explore Yosemite together during a Thanksgiving holiday with family. From feeling dwarfed in the midst of giant sequoia groves to hiking an epic 9-mile-trail all the way to the jaw-dropping Glacier Point lookout, the vast and rugged wilderness of Yosemite has a special place in our heart and is a destination we hope to continue revisiting in the future.

If you've never been, Yosemite's sites and thrills are endless with granite cliffs, sequoia groves, waterfalls, and glaciers, just to name a few. Sitting in the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, the main attraction of this beautiful and vast national park is found at Yosemite Valley.

As you enter Yosemite Valley, your first glimpse is at the Tunnel View site, named for the long tunnel that precedes the view. Don't let the simple title fool you. It's quite a view. You see all of the big landmarks in one shot, and boy, does it not disappoint.

Tunnel View at Yosemite Valley

Picture this: fresh crisp air, the smell of cedar trees after a recent rainfall, and a view that overwhelms all the senses. It's no question why this place inspired the namesake for Sierra Ridge.

In our Sierra Ridge products, we take a woodsy base of juniper and combine it with a hint of jasmine to take you on your very own top-down drive through Yosemite Valley. The rugged wilderness undertones are freshened up with a blend of patchouli and bergamot, and bring the great outdoors to your own bathroom. This masculine fragrance is at once familiar and intriguing, confident but unassuming.

Sierra Ridge

If you've never experienced Yosemite Valley, put it on your travel list. Now. And the same could be said for Sierra Ridge. (See what I did there?) There's a reason it was the first scent we introduced and might I add it is definitely wife-approved.
